We're about to spend our second night here and we really have no complaints. This campground was a KOA at one time and it's now a Good Sam Park.
There's nothing fancy about it, but it's a good place to stop enroute. There are some long term campers and many overnighters.
Our site, #27 was gravel and fairly level. It fit Louis and the Jeep so we can't complain. The sites are not overly large, but fine for a night or two. Since it poured down rain, we weren't interested in sitting outside anyway. There is not a designated dog park, but there were a couple of empty places to walk them.
It's right off I-65, so very convenient. There are many shopping areas within a six mile radius. Not sure how safe I felt inside the Alabaster Wal-Mart. They had three police officers standing guard inside, but I got what I needed.
My one dislike was the continuous run of trains, day and night. Not sure if there is a big crossing here, but you could hear the horns, about every hour. The trains woke me up a couple of times during the night, but it was not a big enough issue to stress over.
The staff was friendly and welcoming. There are a few items for sale in the campstore. They also have a list of nearby restaurants and stores.
I would recommend this as a stopover.
