We were on site #1 and while the sites were not fancy or well maintained, this remains one of our favorite campgrounds. If you're looking to get away from it all, and I mean all - no cell, no wifi, this is the place.
Located across the small road from the Ash River, we had a blast. We rented a small fishing boat twice and went out into the Bay. I also caught my first fish right on the dock!
The campground, along with a few others, was wonderfully remote and beautiful to stay at. We were able to ride our golf cart up and down the road because it was a National Forest Road.
There were also a couple of decent restaurants, right on the water, that had simple but great food. Note: Dave LOVES cheese curds.
International Falls is 30 minutes away.
