Before the contractors got here, I spent an entire week with my sister. We cleaned out closets, shelves, drawers into three piles - donate, going to RV or storage. Of course, we had big contracter trash bags that we filled as well. Our storage bins are being stored at my mom's house. I'm proud to say that we don't have that much. My cedar chest and several tubs is all we're keeping and those tubs are filled with sentimental items from deceased family members, etc.
Our walls are empty and the rooms are echoing. After the contractors finish, we will stay in the house and continue to empty out until the last week of March. At that time, we'll be moving into the rv while the contractors refinish our floors and do a big cleaning, ready for the realtor. The house goes on the market April 1.
We'll stay here at a local campground until mid-November. Our son is getting married Nov 6 and we want to be here for that.
To entertain ourselves, we've spent a lot of evenings on You Tube, checking out areas of the country we want to go to. It gives us something to look forward to.
We also made the decision to join Thousand Trails. We were having a heck of a time finding a campground in Massachusetts that would accept three dogs. Thousand Trails offered us a great deal on a year's membership that will cost the same as staying a week at a campground in MA. So, we'll try it out for a year and if we like it, we may upgrade to Elite status once we're full timing.
Stay tuned!
