Just when I thought I had a handle and plan for the next year, things change, as they are wont to do.  Dave's retirement is now scheduled for Nov 1, 2016.  To get our house sold in time for retirement, we need to be out of here by the end of July.  Gulp, that's less than a year away!  A little hyperventilating went on yesterday.

I couldn't sleep anyway, so I used the time to calm my mind and come up with a new plan, cause I have to have a plan to work from.  I don't do well off the cuff.  Between my sister and a dear friend, I have a plan in place. We will have an estate sale the second week of July, and move out into the RV the third week of July.  That leaves the last week to get the floors refinished and the house on the market by Aug 1.

I'm not looking forward to spending the dog days of summer in an RV park with three dogs, but it'll be good practice.

Today, we cleared out the large curio cabinet in the living room.  We rearranged and that cabinet will be used to house the smaller things for the estate sale.  We've also decided to go ahead and start with the wallpaper removal in a different way.  Originally, the plan was to do all five rooms in February, but I think that's a little too ambitious.  So, I invested in a wallpaper steamer today and we'll start doing a room at a time and then do the painting in February.  Breaking it up in easier and more manageable steps will make it easier for me not to overdo it and go into a flare.

I have 18 photo albums to scan in.  That alone could take me a year. So, handy Amazon found a solution for me.  A portable scanner that will help me do the job much quicker.   This little beauty was only $49, and it scans into pdf, jpeg, and comes with USB as well.  And it's so small that we'll be able to use it in the RV, later, as well.

I have to stop and give a big shout out to my sister, who already plans on being here every Thursday, her day off, to help me get this done.  I couldn't do it without her.  Her moral support, and physical brawn is making this manageable and enjoyable.

That's the progress so far.  Stay tuned for more!

I love your delightful blog! So many familiar emotions as you prepare to embark on a WONDERFUL new life together. So many people go through this (us included) and it's very reassuring somehow when you learn that just about everyone goes through it. I hope you continue to share!
